About NexGen Drilling & Safety Academy

NexGen Drilling & Safety Academy was created to give people entering the oil and gas industry a clear, structured understanding of how drilling rigs work and how crews stay safe — before and alongside their first assignments.

Too often, new starters learn the language of the rig in fragments: a term on the rig floor, an acronym in a report, a safety rule without the reason behind it. Our courses bring those fragments together into one learning path, written in plain language and supported by diagrams, short videos and practical examples.

What we believe

• Understanding comes before skill. Knowing why equipment and procedures exist makes people safer and quicker learners on site.
• Safety is not a separate subject. HSE runs through every module, not just the safety module.
• Be honest about what online learning is. Our courses are introductory education. They prepare you for, but do not replace, site inductions, employer training, operator procedures and accredited certification such as well-control training.

How our content is developed

Course materials are written by our instructional design team using established industry references, and technical and safety content is reviewed by qualified subject-matter experts before publication. Each course lists its references and revision date.
